How many sessions do I need?
Most clients see the best results with 3-5 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart.
Does it hurt?
IPL feels like a quick snap of heat but is well tolerated. Our advanced cooling technology minimizes discomfort.
Is there downtime?
There’s minimal downtime—some redness or darkening of spots may occur before they naturally fade.
To ensure the best results and minimize risks, clients should:
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks before treatment.
Stop using retinoids, exfoliants, and harsh skincare products for at least one week before the session.
Discontinue self-tanners and bronzers at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment (if applicable).
Stay hydrated and keep the skin clean and free of makeup or lotions on the day of treatment.
If you’re unsure whether IPL is right for you, we’re happy to offer a consultation to assess your skin and customize a treatment plan that works for you!
🚫 Pregnant or Breastfeeding Individuals – Hormonal fluctuations can affect skin sensitivity and pigmentation.
🚫 Recent Sun Exposure or Tanning – Tanned or sunburned skin is more prone to burns and hyperpigmentation. Avoid excessive sun exposure for at least 4 weeks before treatment.
🚫 Use of Self-Tanners – Self-tanning products must be avoided for at least 2 weeks before treatment to ensure accurate energy absorption.
🚫 Active Skin Infections or Open Wounds – Conditions like acne breakouts, eczema, psoriasis, or active cold sores in the treatment area may worsen with IPL.
🚫 Recent Use of Photosensitizing Medications – Certain antibiotics, Accutane (must be off for at least 6 months), and other medications that increase light sensitivity can increase the risk of burns and adverse reactions.
🚫 History of Skin Cancer or Precancerous Lesions – IPL is not recommended if you have a history of skin cancer in the treatment area.
🚫 Uncontrolled Medical Conditions – Those with diabetes, lupus, epilepsy, or autoimmune diseases may not be suitable candidates. Consult with your healthcare provider before proceeding.
🚫 Recent Chemical Peels or Laser Treatments – If you’ve had a deep chemical peel, microneedling, or laser treatment, IPL should be postponed for at least 4 weeks to avoid over-exfoliation or skin damage.
🚫 Tattoos or Permanent Makeup in the Treatment Area – IPL can lighten or distort inked areas, so tattooed skin must be avoided.
🚫 Very Dark Skin Tones (Fitzpatrick Type V-VI) – IPL is not ideal for darker skin tones as it targets pigmentation and may cause unwanted skin lightening or hyperpigmentation.
